Interesting thread (with some cool survey results) from @ZachG932. Not sure yet how I'll dishonestly spin this, but dishonestly spin it I shall.

One thing to note is that contra Zach's implication, I do *not* say (and have never said) that young people/college students are more supportive of free speech than older people/non-college students. Not because they're not, but because we don't know. The data is unclear.
What I *have* said is that enrolment in college is associated with an increase in tolerance for offensive speech, which is reflected in decades of HERI data. By the time they graduate, students are less likely to support deplatforming than when they were freshmen.
Anyway, lots to chew over. Some of it is surprising, e.g. the party disparity in Zach's first figure is much, much higher than in equivalent surveys from 2016 and 2017. Not sure what's going on there. But it's all valuable and welcome stuff.
