Nope. There are no “tariffs within the EU”...

That’s the whole point of the Single Market. Basic stuff. 🙄

And the rest of this is remarkable hogwash too. I encourage you all to watch.
And even if you wish to argue that he was talking about tariff levels of the EU as they pertain to third countries...

...there’s an oft-repeated (eg by JRM, Tim Martin) misdirection here -which is citing EU default tariff levels and ignoring EU trade deals that reduce them to 0.
The classic example is with food, where these characters cite high EU tariff levels on oranges and other fruit & veg...

When the EU has FTA & seasonal deals with countries like Mexico and South Africa to ensure year-round supply of 0-tariff food to UK customers.
Furthermore, by the EU’s Everything But Arms (EBA) agreement, the EU has 0% tariffs (and no quotas) on all imports (except arms) from ~47 of the world’s least developed nations...

yup, including food, clothing, footwear - allowing them to compete with more developed countries.
All of this before he casually acknowledges destruction to Britain’s farmers.

And, no - a bit of subsidy won’t fix it.

As EU tariff barriers go up- UK exports like British sheep meat into France will be replaced by other countries & that will be incredibly hard to get back.
Allow me to hand you over to Michael Gove on the matter...

— and let you ponder how British farmers climb back into the European market after having burnt bridges and set up a hostile socio-political dynamic with our neighbours & continent:
