Some 2016 referendum facts:
1. Most Labour voters voted Remain.
2. The biggest Leave/Remain determinant was age.
3. Turnout was lowest in predominantly working class English and Welsh seats.
4. Young, working class English men produced the lowest turnout of all.
There was no huge groundswell working class Leave revolt. Leave won most working class votes in England and Wales, but most English and Welsh working class people either stayed at home or voted Remain.
The idea that Leave won because there was a mass rising against austerity and the economic system is ridiculous. Most Tories voted Leave, most Labour supporters backed Remain. Were Tories really voting against a rigged system and most Labour voters for it? 🤔
