You can entirely see how this dynamic has developed - if you listen to Chris Williamson's speeches there is clearly a narrative that disciplinary concessions are being made under pressure, but in the end nothing will please "them". And Corbyn is always on the wrong side of that

A really important new judgment on a 'hostile environment' policy. It made landlords into immigration enforcement officials by requiring them to seek ID documents from tenants. Court found it was racially discriminatory, coudn't be fixed doughtystreet.co.uk/news/landmark-…

This article is very good on the deep roots of antisemitism on the part of the left most identified with the Corbyn movement - very much from the perspective of the left. Recommended.
It is interesting and somewhat encouraging to see commentators from within the movement showing some measure of self-awareness and at least considering whether this is more serious than they had given credit for.

But...
... it is still along the lines of 'pockets of antisemitism' and 'a small minority of Labour supporters' and there isn't much/any consideration of (1) whether there may be something rotten deep in the ideology, and (2) the true impact of Corbyn's actions and lack of insight

I see left commentators doing threads and I want to feel appreciative, and somehow I don't, and wonder if I have become cynical. These things get said, but nothing seems to change.

@lucianaberger resigned - perhaps that broke a dam, or perhaps that means it's too late?
A sensible colleague pointed out to me today that I have done a succession of v difficult cases (traumatic content) and I wonder if I am reaching a point where my reserves of empathy are too depleted to think clearly on it. I kind of hope so, in a way, as I want to be optimistic
Anyway, it's something that Chris Williamson has been suspended. My fear is that there is still so long to go.

Challenging #antisemitism can lead to hysterical counter-accusations that others with racist views are happy to endorse. After encountering Charles Harding, a #Labour member in Liverpool, dismissing concerns about a/s on Facebook, I accepted his challenge to provide examples. /1
I didn't have to go far afield to find examples because, despite Charles's friends backing his view that antisemitism is just "made-up bullshit", "fake news", "propaganda", etc, his own timeline is in fact replete with #antisemitic posts. As indeed I pointed out to him ... /2
Charles Harding's posts present Jews as "criminals and liars ... afraid of being criticised" who "control the media", "poison your food", "create social unrest", "fund both sides in wars" and run a "shadow government". His sources include neo-Nazi and Holocaust denial sites. /3

Yes, yes, it's in French, but you'll more than get the gist if a) You put it through Google Translate; and b) appreciate that this is France, where journalists will get their asses sued off if they say what absolutely everyone is thinking. So you need to read between the lines.
And I assure you that if you do, you will laugh yourself senseless. Look for the double-entendres. "Might this be compared," journalists ask each other, straight-faced, on television, "to the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior?"
