Old story, but does anyone remember Enemy at the Gates, about WWII snipers? The book was based on a TRUE STORY about a love affair between two Russian snipers, a man and a woman. And they rewrote it to make the woman a helpless civilian! 2/ imdb.com/title/tt021575…
Also, the article doesn't mention the attempted smear campaign against Captain Marvel by online trolls -- because at this moment in history there are still lots of men who find a fictional female hero the biggest threat out there 3/
Of course, it still matters whether the movie is any good. I guess we'll find out 4/

The collapse of traditional work in Appalachia has definitely created a lot of social problems, and also political backlash – although very much with the wrong targets. But I have a couple of thoughts 1/ nytimes.com/2019/03/15/opi…
One is that something similar happened to blue-collar work in big US cities, leading to social collapse in some urban communities – but strange to say, all the emphasis was on the supposed problems of black culture, not the disappearance of work 2/
The second is that the collapse of mining employment happened a long time ago – and while the region is depressed, there have been other forms of employment, What stops these jobs from being seen as providing work with dignity? (Serious question) 3/

Let's face it: most prominent conservatives -- most political figures in general, to be fair, but even more so on the right -- are deeply charisma-challenged, boring, inarticulate, and, honestly, not too bright. Also pretty old. 2/
AOC is everything they aren't – and a woman of color too. We shouldn't put her on a pedestal – that's not doing her any favors either! She's going to make mistakes, commit the occasional gaffe, and in general be fallible. That's OK! 3/

On 10/31/17, a terrorist from Uzbekistan (Khazakstan) killed 8 and injured 11 only 5 blocks from the new WTC. So if he died too, that’s 9 dead, 11 injured. In the biggest attack on NYC since 9/11.

It is my belief he was running from being caught, but his real intention was to attack/bomb WTC1 on 11/1.

11/1: 2 Towers fell on 9/11.
1 Tower was to fall 11/1.
