SHORT THREAD.
At a diner today, we sat next to a white frail older man, a 50ish white man, a 30ish white woman and three beautiful and very well behaved black children...

The little boy fell off his chair and hit his head so hard it was jarring. I gasped, the mother rushed to pick him up and took him outside. The men didn’t react at all. The younger man flipped his phone out and ignored the fall. It was stunning....

We were ready to go outside to check on him, but she came back and he seemed fine. Whew.

Then they started to talk politics. (The younger man was very large and had a booming voice so it was actually hard to ignore him)..

The mother talked about the Cohen hearing and how the Republicans didn’t question Trump’s crimes but just attacked Cohen. She got especially animated when she brought up Meadows bringing out ‘that black women’ saying his relatives were black, so he wasn’t racist...

“Who f-ing does that?” was the exact quote.

The younger man took over and said the Democrats will lose to Trump again because they want to tax at 70%. The woman explained marginal tax rates, but he said if he makes $100MILLION, it’s *his* money!...

She laughed and said seriously? It got heated and they left with her taunting him about him *ever* making $100 MILLION....

My husband and I got the distinct impression that he heartily agreed Trump was a racist and a criminal, BUT he wouldn’t vote for a Democrat because IF HE MADE OVER $100M IT WAS HIS MONEY AND HE SHOULD GET TO KEEP ALL OF IT!

Oh yeah, guess who paid for dinner? The old guy. <end>
