Trump slandering John McCain is expected. He earned respect that Trump will never have. That so few of McCain's fellow Republicans defend a recently passed hero against these attacks is even more pathetic.
Trump champions racists & smears American heroes. The GOP deserves to go into the dustbin of history with Trump if there is no Republican office-holder left to ask Trump, "At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"
Nor would condemnation suffice. It must be backed with real opposition to the destructive politics & policies of a reckless & corrupt president who has put himself above the law & the nation.

One problem with having a joke of a president is that his power is still real and no one wants to believe it.
This sort of reality bending is also typical. The truth is whatever he says *now*, not yesterday or last year. He was joking, or misinterpreted, or just so what? The truth is never knowable. Not his Twitter or his own words.
It also serves as a loyalty test and a way of tying his followers to him. He lies to their faces and watches to see who defends him anyway.

The worst of this Cohen spectacle is the GOP Congress members so eagerly sacrificing the honor of their office and institution to defend Donald Trump. They know what he is.
Cohen is destroying the last shreds of credibility of Trump the man, while Trump is in Vietnam destroying the credibility of the US presidency, dancing to Putin’s tune and flattering a mass-murdering dictator.
Putin likely told Trump he’d get a prize for this humiliating performance with Kim Jong-un, but the Best Picture award goes to the producer, and that’s Putin. And Tom Clancy would never have written so unrealistic a script!

American teachers' unions are waging war on charters and attacking school reform infrastructure. Key to their strategy is to create union assets in elected offices by either getting them elected, paying them off and/or ending their tenure as elected leaders when they disobey.
Their most effective message is to paint charters as unregulated hotbeds of fraud. It's a remarkable claim because while causing suspicion of charters, it also positions districts as exemplars of transparent institutions.

Of course, they are not.

In fact, school districts routinely suffer financially due to problems that range from simple budget mismanagement to outright fraud.

For example, a California district budgets $130 for a high school serving 1,600 kids, but cost almost doubles that.
