I heard the debate on your show between @CatherineMEP and @Nigel_Farage this morning. Mr Farage falsely stated that we can "apply Article XXIV of GATT", and trade as now for two years.

"Very straightforward, very simple. we can go to the WTO and apply Article XXIV of the GATT Treaty which gives us 2 years minimum where everything will stay exactly the same until we can sort of a free trade deal".

It's not so much that its "never been done before" as that it is a total red herring from start to finish, and based upon a misreading of Article XXIV of GATT

So why isn't @Nigel_Farage getting the message?
It is because he simply does not know what he's talking about and never has done and doesn't care. None of the Brexit advocates had any idea what it actually entailed or what the consequences were.
