One of the reasons I decided to only have one. It part because I worry about his future. In part because each US kid takes up the resources/expends the carbon of 50+ kids in poor countries.
We did a story on the role of increased population paired with increased emissions 8 years ago, so if anything these differentials are more stark, but here's the math 2 US kids = 337 Bangladeshi kids re carbon emissions. motherjones.com/environment/20…
Also you guys: Only kids are fine. Some things are harder, for you/for them. Some things are *a lot* easier, for you, for them. And there's no way to know how a differently configured family would impact their trajectory. Welcome to my Ted Talk.
