NEW: The judge in Roger Stone's case weighs in on his newly-released book — she's not ruling now that he violated the gag order, but she strongly suggests his book may run afoul, and ordered him to explain by 3/11 what he's doing to come into compliance assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5759…
Stone will also have to provide a lot more details by March 11 about the publication and promotion of his book (which is a re-release of a book he previously wrote with a new introduction that slams Mueller)
The judge is basically saying: It does not matter when exactly Roger Stone wrote what he wrote (he calls Mueller "crooked" in the introduction, among other things). The fact that he plans to *disseminate* his thoughts *now* is the problem, she says
The judge does not specify what exactly it means for Stone to come into "compliance" with her rulings. She doesn't say, for instance, that Stone must pull his book from distribution, but that could be one interpretation of this very strongly-worded order
The judge writes that the fact that there's a gag order in the first place is Stone's fault (remember the Instagram post of the judge's picture?), and that any "any costs or consequences" from telling her this late about the book "are also solely attributable to the defendant"
The judge is also ticked that Stone's original motion for clarification indicated publication of the book was "imminent" when, in fact, it was already out — and she says it suggests he said anything at all just to get more publicity
The judge is *also* ticked that Stone and his lawyers didn't bring up the book sooner given their previous args that no gag order was needed because the publicity would die down, and that Stone didn't need to talk about his case to make a living
On what prompted this very angry order from the judge in Roger Stone's criminal case: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
(The judge's order does not address the Instagram post that prosecutors brought to her attention, which featured a pic of Stone with the text "Who Framed Roger Stone")
Asked if they had any comment re: Jackson's order today, Roger Stone's lawyer replied: "We will reply in accordance with the Judge’s order. Our court filings will speak for themselves."

Stone has not responded so far to a direct request for comment.
