57. TN Rep. Mark Green (tied to G. Kline Preston and Doug Grindstaff)

That's the list of GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating. I sincerely hope I don't have to add any more senators, congresspeople, and governors to this list.
Here's a breakdown of the most common way lawmakers are tied to this mess to this point:

Ties to Cambridge Analytica: 22
NRA-related connections: 13
Ties to Maria Butina: 10
Ties to Russian and Ukranian oligarchs/magnates: 9
Ties to Ukranian lobbyists/lawmakers: 7
And now a breakdown of lawmakers by group tied to this mess at this time by status:

Active Senators: 22
Active Reps. in Congress: 16
Active Governors: 4
Inactive/Retired Reps.: 10
Inactive/Retired Governors: 3
Inactive/Retired Senators: 1
Deceased Lawmakers: 1
That means that, based on the group breakdown by status, 42 of the 57 GOP lawmakers tied by reporting to this mess are active. 38 are currently serving in Congress and 4 are current governors. One of those current governors, Phil Bryant (MS), is term-limited & can't run in 2019.
Here's a state-by-state rundown of those 57 GOP lawmakers tied to this mess:

5-CA
4-FL, KY, LA, NC, and TX
3-SC and WI
2-AL, AR, AZ, IA, MI, MO, MT, and TN
1-CO, ID, IL, MS, NY, OH, PA, SD, UT, and WY
That state-by-state rundown shows that the 57 GOP lawmakers tied to this mess by reporting represent 26 states, more than half of all the states in the USA. By the way, the electoral vote count in those 26 states add up to 362.
With the announcement of the INDICTMENT of Natalia Veselnitskaya by the SDNY today, let's dovetail back to a story in my original thread about AR congressman French Hill & former CA congressman Dana Rohrabacher, and their ties to the Trump Tower Meeting.

arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/a…
Granted the charges brought today don't seem to be tied to that meeting on June 9, 2016, but with her name back in the news because of an indictment, the ties between Hill and Rohrabacher and two key Russians in that meeting, one of which was Veselnitskaya, can't be forgotten.
Hate to tweet it, but we've got still another GOP lawmaker to add to the list of those tied to this mess. This one is OH Sen. Rob Portman. Given recent developments in the Mueller probe, as it concerns Manafort and lying about, among other things, the Ukrainian Peace Plan, ...
... it must be mentioned that OH Sen Rob Portman is tied to this, as well. Some time back, it was reported by @McClatchyDC that Andrii Artemenko was introduced to Portman, Democratic congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH), and Dana Rohrabacher by Curt Weldon.

mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-wo…
It turns out that at Portman had discussed the Ukrainian Peace Plan, which Mueller has been looking into, with Artemenko when Artemenko was in Cleveland in 2016 for the Republican Nat'l Convention. This may also tie into the GOP platform change on Russia.

foreignpolicy.com/2017/04/18/tru…
This makes Portman the 58th GOP lawmaker and the 23rd sitting member of the U.S. Senate to be tied to this overarching mess in some way. That means that nearly one-quarter of the ENTIRE U.S. Senate, all on the GOP side, is tied to this in some way.
Though he was already tied to this mess via Cambridge Analytica, today's news that NC Sen. Richard Burr, the chairman of the Senate Intel Committee, coordinated with the NRA in 2016 is HUGE, making him the seventh GOP senator to use this illegal tactic.

motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
Late in my first mega-thread about GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating, I tweeted about a tie between CA Rep. Devin Nunes and Mike Flynn regarding the Turkey Rendition Meetings just before the inauguration.

Well, tonight, @thedailybeast broke a story that only cements that connection between Nunes and Flynn, through a meeting they had with foreign officials at Trump's DC Hotel just before inauguration, which Mueller is investigating. This is BIG NEWS.

thedailybeast.com/mueller-probes…
It also certifies the belief many had that Nunes has had something to hide since the very start of the HIC investigation into Russia's attack on the 2016 election (when he was the committee's chairman), which he pretty much sabotaged from the start.
This new revelation may also shine a new light on the #NunesTapes, which were revealed on @Maddow's program the night of August 8, 2018. It certainly appears now that he may have gotten a number of GOP House members in trouble with what was released.

nbcnews.com/politics/polit…
And just a day or two after those recordings were revealed, Nunes went with AR Rep. Rick Crawford to Azerbaijan. The purpose of that trip remains unknown. Could there have been attempted witness tampering involved, or was it for legitimate purposes?

dailykos.com/stories/2018/8…
It is interesting that Emin Agalarov, who's publicist helped set up the June 2016 Trump Tower Meeting, is the son-in-law of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. What isn't known is whether this trip has anything to do with the investigation of that meeting.
If it does happen to be about the investigation of the Trump Tower Meeting, then AR Rep. Rick Crawford would certainly be added to those tied with what's being investigated. Remember that another AR Rep., French Hill, has already been tied to two key Russians from that meeting.
Of course, it's also entirely possible that, since they were meeting with the president of another nation, that the meeting Nunes and Crawford had with Ilham Aliyev, Emin Agalarov's father-in-law and President of Azerbaijan, could have been for perfectly legitimate purposes.
We now have 2 more GOP lawmakers to add to this rogue's gallery of GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating. This goes back to a company called American Ethane, which is really owned by THREE Russian oligarchs.

bayoubrief.com/2018/08/02/six…
In that article, it's mentioned that American Ethane (owned by a trio of Russian oligarchs) gave to BOTH LA senators (Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy), as well as to LA congressman Steve Scalise. With their additions, there are now 60 GOP lawmakers tied to pieces of this. SIXTY!
Also, it's mentioned that those oligarchs gave to SC Sen. Lindsey Graham, which marks the second instance of Graham taking from Russian oligarchs (remember he was one of those that took from Vekselberg and Blavatnik).
And speaking of Len Blavatnik, another lawmaker mentioned as having taken from American Ethane was Democratic senator Bob Menendez (NJ). Thanks to @ScottStedman's reporting, we know that Menendez also took from Blavatnik in the 2018 midterms.
On a side note, one of the oligarchs mentioned in the piece as being involved with American Ethane is Konstantin Nikolaev. Remember that Nikolaev is also one of the key figures in the Maria Butina matter, as Nikolaev was revealed to be her money man.

thedailybeast.com/exclusive-this…
More bad news for LA GOP congressmen. turns out that two more LA congressmen, Mike Johnson (already tied to this via Cambridge Analytica) and Garret Graves took from American Ethane, which is owned by Russian oligarchs. (Info from @OpenSecretsDC.)

opensecrets.org/search?q=ameri…
While the amount, at $12.2K (Johnson) and $5,400 (Graves) is not major, it is a federal crime to take anything of value from a foreign entity for political campaigns. This makes Graves the 61st GOP lawmaker tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating.
Unfortunately, these developments, combined with past developments, makes Louisiana the new leader in a category they don't want to be leading in. Most GOP lawmakers tied to this mess, at six. The biggest state of all, California, only has five GOP lawmakers tied to this mess.
Enough new GOP lawmakers have been tied to this since I began this new thread that an update on the latest GOP lawmakers tied to this is needed:

56. MO Sen. Josh Hawley (NRA campaign coordination)
57. TN Rep. Mark Green (tied to G. Kline Preston and Doug Grindstaff)
58. OH Sen. Rob Portman (ties to Manafort/Ukrainian Peace Plan)
59. LA Sen. Bill Cassidy (taking from Russian oligarchs via American Ethane)
60-61. LA Reps. Steve Scalise and Garret Graves (taking from Russian oligarchs via American Ethane)
With these new additions, there are now 61 GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating, which now include 42 current members of Congress, 24 senators (nearly one-quarter of the ENTIRE body) and 18 congresspeople.
We've got another southern governor (or in this case, ex-governor) to add to the list of those tied to this mess. That would be former TN Gov. Bill Haslam. Months ago, I didn't think of his photo with Alexander Torshin in 2012 as being that important, ...
... until I looked at that photo again and noticed who else was in that photo. G. Kline Preston, the Nashville lawyer who, along with David Keene, was instrumental in bringing Russia and the NRA together back in 2009-'10.

thinkprogress.org/did-marsha-bla…
Truth be told, Haslam, now the 62nd GOP lawmaker tied to this, will not likely face any investigation and/or prosecution if his involvement didn't go beyond this, since the statute of limitations has likely passed (which shows how lengthy this effort by the Russians was), ...
... but if Haslam intends to run for the seat that will be vacated by TN Sen. Lamar Alexander, who's not running in 2020, he should have to answer for his potential role in what happened, as well as any relationship he may have had with G. Kline Preston and Alexander Torshin.
With today's arrest of Roger Stone in Florida, there are two GOP lawmakers from FL who may be very worried right now. One is Sen. Rick Scott and the other, who's not yet been tied to anything pertaining to this mess, is FL Rep. Matt Gaetz, who does have ties to Roger Stone.
Last year, @JamesFourM identified some of those ties between Gaetz and Stone, and while they don't prove anything at this time, there might be more to come out.

Let's not forget that Stone is involved in the Guccifer 2.0/Wikileaks situation, and there have been rumors that Gaetz, who has those ties to Stone, is one of those who weaponized the Guccifer 2.0/Wikileaks hacks, though that has not yet been proven, or even reported.
And of course, Scott, one of the "original 14" in my first thread, may have been so afraid of what Stone might reveal about his ties to Russia, that it might have been a significant reason he refused to take action against Scott Israel after the aftermath of the MSD HS Massacre.
Remember that Israel, who was deposed recently by new FL Gov. Ron DeSantis, has his own ties to Roger Stone, as well as the ties the department he led have to Spetsnaz & the Russian mob, and it's entirely possible Rick Scott didn't want that in the open.

medium.com/@ZarinaZabrisk…
Just got an update on a story from earlier in this thread. Turns out that the daughter of the Pres. of Azerbaijan and Emin Agalarov divorced before Devin Nunes and AR congressman Rick Crawford went to Azerbaijan just after the #NunesTapes were revealed.

If it turns out that trip was about the Trump Tower Meeting and an attempt to cover it up, then there's now a distinct possibility that the Pres. of Azerbaijan could have spilled to the beans on the role of the Agalarovs, as it relates to their role in helping to set up the TTM.
I've cataloged the 62 GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating, but there are more with tangible ties that not enough is known about right now to discernibly place them on the list of GOP lawmakers tied to this mess.
Among them are:

-6 or 7 GOP senators not tied to this mess that took from two entities heavily tied to Cambridge Analytica (Bolton's PAC and the Mercers).
-AL Sen. Richard Shelby (possible tie to a busted nuclear reactor deal with Mike Flynn, Russia, and Saudi Arabia)
-AR congressman Rick Crawford (trip w/Nunes to Azerbaijan just after the #NunesTapes were revealed)
-FL congressman Matt Gaetz (possible ties to arrested & indicted GOP operative Roger Stone)
-TX congressman Randy Weber (possible ties to Alexander Torshin)
There are possible ties to this with every one of those GOP lawmakers I mentioned, but not yet enough is known about any of those potential ties to officially state that any of them are tied to this mess.
One interesting side note to the possible Weber/Torshin tie is that the meeting he had with Torshin took place at roughly the same time that Maria Butina was talking to two Obama-era Federal Reserve and Treasury officials in 2015.

reuters.com/article/us-usa…
And yes, the timing of all that is very suspicious, especially given that Torshin is now known to have been wanted for money laundering in Spain for two years by this time (he's been wanted by Spanish law enforcement officials since 2013).
Why would any lawmaker, regardless of political party, want to have a meeting with someone who's wanted for serious crimes (Torshin) while his associate (Butina) is seeking high ranking officials of both the Federal Reserve and the Department of the Treasury?
The more I think about it, the more I have to come to the conclusion that Weber has to be included among those tied to this mess, which makes him the 63rd GOP lawmaker, the fifth from the Lone Star State, and the 43rd current GOP member of Congress tied to this mess.
There's now no doubt that FL Rep. Matt Gaetz is tied to Roger Stone. A couple of articles I've gazed at cements that. However, as of now, there's no connection between Gaetz and Stone, as it relates to what's being investigated that could implicate Gaetz and tie him to this mess.
On this, the first anniversary of the #ParklandSchoolShooting that saw 17 killed (14 of them students) and another 14 injured, let's not forget that, of the 63 GOP lawmakers tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ are investigating, ...
... 22 of them are tied to NRA/Russia links or figures in the NRA/Russia nexus, or their election campaigns coordinated with the NRA since 2014, which was the year after Maria Butina, who 13 GOP lawmakers are tied to, signed a cooperation agreement with the NRA. #MSDStrong
By the way, the list of the 22 GOP lawmakers tied to links and/or figures in the NRA/Russia nexus, or those who's campaigns are known to have coordinated with the NRA since 2014 are as follows:

-Former Gov. Scott Walker (WI)
-Sen. Tom Cotton (AR)
-Sen. Thom Tillis (NC)
-Sen. Rick Scott (FL)
-Sen. Richard Burr (NC)
-Sen. Cory Gardner (CO)
-Sen. Ron Johnson (WI)
-Sen. Marsha Blackburn (TN)
-Rep. Robert Aderholt (AL) *
-Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX) *
-Rep. John Moolenaar (MI) *
-Rep. Tim Walberg (MI) *
-Former Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL) *
-Former Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (CA)
-Rep. Thomas Massie (KY)
-Gov. Matt Bevin (KY)
-Former Sen. (and former USAG) Jeff Sessions (AL)
-Sen. Chuck Grassley (IA) *
-Former Gov. Bobby Jindal (LA)
-Rep. Mark Green (TN)
-Former Gov. Bill Haslam (TN)
-Rep. Randy Weber (TX)
Any GOP lawmaker with an asterisk next to their name in the previous three tweets means their tie to Maria Butina is through her ties to religious groups, not through her NRA ties.
It now looks like yet another GOP senator, ND's Kevin Cramer, might have some explaining to do as to why he's tied himself to Mikhail Morgulis, a Russian theologian that offered to organize votes for Trump among America's Russian speaking community.

thinkprogress.org/meet-the-russi…
And given that Morgulis pitched the idea to Sergey Millian, who's a key player at the heart of what's being investigated by Mueller now ties yet another GOP senator to this mess. Cramer now becomes the 64th GOP lawmaker and the 25th current GOP senator tied to this mess.
With that information, courtesy of @cjcmichel's reporting, exactly ONE-QUARTER of the ENTIRE U.S. Senate, all from the GOP, are now tied to Russia and/or what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating.
Because of a bombshell story by the @nytimes, former acting AG Matt Whitaker & congressmen Matt Gaetz (FL), Jim Jordan (OH), Mark Meadows (NC), & Devin Nunes (CA) have clearly been implicated in obstruction of justice or conspiracy to obstruct justice.

nytimes.com/2019/02/19/us/…
But this is no surprise. Remember the release of the #NunesTapes on @Maddow's show the night of August 8, 2018? That implicated a number of GOP congressmen in possible obstruction or conspiracy to obstruct justice, including Nunes.

nbcnews.com/politics/polit…
Let's not forget that current FL Gov. Ron DeSantis was also one of those trying to obstruct the Mueller investigation. While his name was never mentioned in that piece by the @nytimes, his role must now also be reconsidered, as well as the role of WA Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
Remember that it was at one of McMorris Rodgers' events that the #NunesTapes were recorded. Today's @nytimes story now shines a whole new light on that episode. Rodgers was also one of those in that infamous 2016 conversation with Kevin McCarthy & former House Speaker Paul Ryan.
If this is being investigated by Special Counsel Bob Mueller (and if it's not, other parts of the DOJ may be investigating this), there are three or four more congresspeople in BIG trouble right now.
And because of that, congressmen Matt Gaetz (FL), Jim Jordan (OH), and Mark Meadows (NC) are now tied to this mess, and along with CA congressman Devin Nunes, who's tied to this mess in other ways, are the first to be tied to the obstruction portion of what Mueller's looking at.
Gaetz, Jordan, and Meadows thus become the 65th, 66th, and 67th GOP lawmakers to be tied to this mess, either to Russia and/or to what Mueller and the DOJ have been investigating, which of course, includes obstruction of justice.
Because of a recent flood of new GOP lawmakers to be tied to this mess, I'll be doing another recent update list of the most recent GOP lawmakers to be tied to this mess in some way.

62. Former TN Gov. Bill Haslam (tied to G. Kline Preston and Alexander Torshin)
63. TX Rep. Randy Weber (tied to Alexander Torshin)
64. ND Sen. Kevin Cramer (tied to Mikhail Morgulis and Sergei Millian)
65. FL Rep. Matt Gaetz (obstruction of justice)
66. OH Rep. Jim Jordan (obstruction of justice)
67. NC Rep. Mark Meadows (obstruction of justice)
And given the contents of yesterday's bombshell report by the @nytimes, which clearly implicated four GOP congressmen in obstruction of justice or conspiracy to obstruct justice, let's flash back to this goody from @politico in August of 2017:

politico.com/story/2017/08/…
This could very well implicate FL Gov. Ron DeSantis, then a congressman, in the same kind of obstruction that yesterday's @nytimes article clearly implicated four other GOP congressmen in. (DeSantis is already tied to this mess through Cambridge Analytica via John Bolton's PAC.)
By the way, there's another GOP congressman we can add to the list of those tied to the obstruction that the @nytimes article from Feb. 19 alluded to, and that's NY Rep. Lee Zeldin. He's not mentioned in the text of the article, but he is mentioned in one of the photo captions.
This now makes FIVE GOP congressmen implicated by that @nytimes article, as it pertains to obstruction of justice or conspiracy to obstruct justice that Mueller and his team have been investigating.
Lee Zeldin's thus becomes the 68th GOP lawmaker tied to this mess and the 5th tied to obstruction, and I have a feeling there may be more tied to the obstruction part of this through that article.
That's because the letter that Reps. Matt Gaetz (FL) & Jim Jordan (OH) drafted that's mentioned in the article was signed by TWENTY GOP members of the House, so we know there are more tied to this. They just haven't been identified yet. Gaetz appears to have been the ringleader.
There's now no doubt that current FL Gov. Ron DeSantis is one of those unnamed GOP congressmen that were involved in that massive conspiracy to obstruct justice outlined in that @nytimes piece from a few days ago. Here's a goody from @politico last May:

politico.com/story/2018/05/…
After the #NunesTapes were revealed, I made a list of other GOP congresspeople who could also be implicated in a conspiracy to obstruct justice, based on what was released on those tapes. Given what we know now, here's an updated list of those implicated, or possibly implicated.
I-Those congressmen definitely implicated in the conspiracy to obstruct justice:

-Matt Gaetz (FL)
-Jim Jordan (OH)
-Mark Meadows (NC)
-Devin Nunes (CA)
-Lee Zeldin (NY)
-Ron DeSantis (currently the Governor of Florida)
II-Other congresspeople possibly implicated in the conspiracy to obstruct justice:

-Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA)
-Andy Biggs (AZ)
-Paul Gosar (AZ)
-Scott Perry (PA)
-Jody Hice (GA)
-Scott DesJarlis (TN)
-Louie Gohmert (TX)
-Mo Brooks (AL)
There are certainly others, because every one of those who signed that letter Gaetz and Jordan penned in the summer of 2017 are parties to this conspiracy to obstruct justice, and according to that @nytimes article, there were 20 of them.
