Sick of negative cricket posts only outlining whats wrong with the game and ways we need to change and "improve" it, lets start a positive cricket thread with things that are great about the game that we all love to play and why more people should play it! Feel free to join in!
Lots of comments about how long games take and how much of a day it takes up. This can be a huge positive of cricket! Spending the day with your mates in the sun playing sport is brilliant!
Cricket is one of a few team sports where you as an individual can really impact on a game scoring hundreds or taking 5fers can turn a game on its head and you as an individual can cause that
Friends you make playing cricket will be some of the best (and often weirdest) group of mates you will have. Sometimes you struggle to shake them off in fact!
Cricket clubs can be amazing central points in communities they are welcoming friendly places where everyone is welcome, there are few greater pleasures in life than watching cricket in the sun with a beverage in your hand

Cricket is a seriously rewarding sport, going from not being able to pick up a bat or bowl a ball to scoring your first runs or taking your first wicket there are few better feelings in sport and ANYONE can do it!
Cricket can be played by people of all ages, there are very few other sports where you will find players who are 12/13 in a team with people who are 60+!

Kids love cricket, seriously go down to your local cricket club on a kids training night, they love it! This is often hugely overlooked by the cloud of negativity surrounding the sport.
£ for £ cricket is one of the best value sports you can play, memberships tend to be around £100 a year and match fees around £10 a game for a whole days sport. Golf memberships are thousands and football fees around the same price as cricket with a fraction of the playing time.
Cricket is played hard on the field but any niggle is then left on the field, we shake hands and have a beer after the game. Cricket friendships extend beyond just your own club it is a wider community.
Cricket is a great way to travel and see loads of different parts of the country, so many cricket grounds are often in beautiful picturesque settings, great places to spend a day in the sun playing sport.
