HAARETZ has published my response, as a proud American Jew, to the anti-Semitic term/concept "Jexodus." I call it anti-Semitic because it is goverment-coordinated (Trump administration-facilitated) agitprop whose lies are directed exclusively at U.S. Jews. haaretz.com/us-news/.premi…
1/ There *is* no "exodus" of Jews from the Democratic Party, the only US party affiliated with Jewish values (either religious or cultural). That's Lie #1. Lie #2 is that the Democratic Party, which has fought for such values for decades, is "anti-Jewish." It is, again, agitprop.
2/ There are, of course, many Republican Jews, and that's 100% fine, even though the party's values are antithetical to the values taught in a Jewish education (as I know because I had one). But Donald Trump is an anti-Semite: so no, it is *not* okay for a Jew to support him IMO.
3/ This is, of course, only my opinion, though it's based on having received a Jewish education alongside my secular education until I was 16, and having been born and raised an American Jew. But on that basis, I won't stand down for anti-Semitic agitprop. And no US Jew should.
4/ Donald Trump has actively advanced the international anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that George Soros is attempting to run multiple world governments. He used anti-Semitic imagery against Clinton. He calls Neo-Nazis "good people." He advances stereotypes about Jews and money.
5/ Trump's rhetoric of division gives aid and comfort to neo-Nazis, and when this has been called to his attention, he has not relented *one iota*. He fraudulently claimed not to know who Neo-Nazi chieftan David Duke was, when David Duke endorsed him. Trump is a despicable bigot.
6/ I've been willing to suffer silently for a long time the idea that some of my fellow Jews who know the values undergirding a Jewish education would nevertheless choose to support this anti-Semite. But I'll be dammed if I stay silent as he tries to spread anti-Semitic agitprop.
7/ The time for Jews to speak up against this anti-Semitie has long since passed. But the *last red line* is when he starts systematically spreading lies about Jewish values, mores, and behaviors on Twitter. It's a point of no return. This man wouldn't even denounce *Steve King*.
8/ The only *values-based* explanation I've ever heard for Jewish Republicanism is support for the Israeli government. That just went out the window with the indictment of Netanyahu for corruption and fraud, a course of conduct that anyone could've seen coming from *years* away.
9/ PROOF OF CONSPIRACY will address, head on, Israeli involvement in pre-election collusion with Trump. This is a moment for all.Jews to distinguish between support for the Israeli state as a viable concept and support for Netanyahu, and support for the GOP and support for Trump.
10/ There are many ways for a Jew to end up Republican that are readily explained by the fact that one's Jewish identity is only a part of one's holistic identity. But there is *no* way for a Jew to justify supporting an anti-Semite like Trump—and right now the GOP is *his*. /end
PS/ There are two typos in this thread, which longtime readers of my feed will know is entirely unlike me. Take it as a sign of how angry I am. Too many people, and groups of people, are lying down every day for a man who is quite evidently absolutely monstrous. Enough is enough.
PS2/ This is not about policy. This is about *values*. At this point, anyone in the United States who cares about values as well as policy is saying to themselves that any other human being, *even Mike Pence*, is a different order of character than this person in the White House.
