Daniel Jones, the former Dianne Feinstein staffer, operates a second nonprofit, ADVANCE DEMOCRACY INC. That's on top of DEMOCRACY INTEGRITY PROJECT, which has been reported on.
Jones told the FBI that DEMOCRACY INTEGRITY partnered with Fusion GPS and Chris Steele to continue the Trump-Russia investigation that began with the dossier. He's received funded from 7-10 wealthy patrons, including George Soros.
As we reported on Sunday, a California nonprofit with links to progressive bigwigs gave $2.1 million to DEMOCRACY INTEGRITY in 2017.
ADVANCE DEMOCRACY has not been on the radar. Jones formed it on Jan. 29, 2018, four days after his name was included on a list of persons of interest to Chuck Grassley. They've not disclosed their donors, despite the website claiming to support "transparency."
But a donor-advised fund called Silicon Valley Community Foundation disclosed giving $500k to ADVANCE last year. SVCF is a pass-through charity, and it's donors' identities are not disclosed. But ppl like Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, and Howard Shultz are known to donated.
Still unclear whose $500k was sent to ADVANCE DEMOCRACY.
