My hot take on Beto and the 2020 Democratic Primary is that I wish everyone would stop talking about all of this and focus for awhile on all the grassroots efforts happening to make this a less terrible nation.
Guess what--it barely matters who the presidential nominee is! It matters a lot more what is happening at the grassroots, local elections, moving up into Congress.
There should be a one-day moratorium on all discussion of the primary and every political reporter has to focus on some local issue in their hometowns.
