1/6 Update: we went to San Jose federal court with our plaintiffs today for a magistrate settlement conference, and the case did not settle. This means more deposition transcripts, travel, research, experts, documents, exhibits, out of pocket expenses ... gofundme.com/JusticeInSanJo…
2/6 for these @realdonaldtrump supporters assaulted and threatened and harassed in 2016 during the campaign. After federal judge allowed the case to go forward in 2016, San Jose & police officers appealed to 9th Circuit, which ruled for us and against qualified immunity defense/
3/6 so the case is approaching its third year. Our clients are raising money through GoFundMe (link in first tweet) to pay for the out of pocket expenses of the case (not attorney fees). This is an expense-heavy case with numerous party depositions and witness depositions yet...
4/6 to be taken, and we cannot go the distance in this case without financial support to cover the costs (my firm has been handling the case for nearly three years now without charging for our time)...
5/6 It's election time again, & if we don't want to see a repeat of the political violence against conservatives that we saw in 2016, we need to send a strong message to cities such as San Jose that they must let the police do their jobs and protect citizens against criminals...
