A significant portion of our network –and 2/4 of our exec committee– are lesbian / bisexual Cambridge students. CUSU LGBT no longer even maintains the pretence of representing us. Incidentally, however, this Q's phrasing nicely illustrates the hypocrisy of ‘gender identity’. 1/8 
Women are forced either to (a) profess to have some metaphysical “womanly identity” beyond simply factually being a woman, or (b) deny they are women at all, and thereby surrender their claim to have Student Rep socs serve their interests. 2/8
Because our members recognise we do not “identify” as women any more than we “identify” as having a certain hair or eye colour, ‘gender ideology’ proponents are forced to conclude we must not be women at all, no matter our view on the subject (or the objective reality of it). 3/8
A dogmatic assertion of a particular definition of womanhood can never be – even one based on ‘identity’ – neutral as to / tolerant of alternative conceptions. All purport to exclude certain subjects which under an alternative conception would be included. 4/8
Those who suggest that the (factual) definition of womanhood as ‘adult human females’ is “exclusionary” therefore reveal themselves not to have a problem with being exclusionary in and of itself … but simply with excluding the wrong people. 5/8
Women – any woman who lacks a ‘gender identity’, i.e. the vast majority of women – are excluded by a ‘gender identity’ definition. But that is preferable to the alternative of excluding a tiny minority of men whose feelings would be hurt as a consequence. 6/8
Gender ideology repopulates the category of “woman” with, first and foremost, men and - only then - women who agree to behave. We utterly reject the assertion made by gender identity ideologists, that women’s oppression (via gender) is somehow ‘natural’ and ‘innate’, 7/8
... that it is something with which women ‘identify’ lest they be excluded or rendered nameless as a class. Not just because it is deeply offensive and anti-feminist, but because it is straight-up incoherent. 8/8
