@AshaRangappa_ @harrylitman I found this very confusing, as it conflates at every point criminal and counterintelligence investigations, adds language to the Barr letter that isn't there, and adds language to the Rosenstein appointment that isn't there. I'm not sure this is going to bring much new clarity.
@AshaRangappa_ @harrylitman We have not received any confirmation at all that the multiple counterintelligence investigations that were initiated prior to the Mueller appointment were folded into the Mueller investigation, and Harry is not laying out where (if anywhere at all) he is seeing that confirmed.
@AshaRangappa_ @harrylitman In mid-2016, there were at least four and possibly five counterintelligence investigations against Trump aides. Those counterintelligence investigations were joined by at least one other in mid-2017. And none of these were ever formally joined to Mueller's criminal investigation.
@AshaRangappa_ @harrylitman If Harry is saying he considers the Mueller probe itself to have been jointly a counterintelligence and criminal probe, I don't see anything in Barr's letter indicating the counterintelligence work is completed as well as the criminal work, let alone any news of the other probes.
