There are no arguments left, if there ever were. The government can't be trusted to live up to its promises. May is in a death spiral. Parliament must take control.
The fact this is even tight is a joke. MPs should be clamouring to take control. Who goes into politics to reduce their say at critical moments in history?
It's surely now or never. The EU has thrown them one last lifeline. The petition and the march show there is a swell of popular demand for a change of course.
Brexit is currently a failure of government. But if they fail to show proper responsibility today, it'll be a failure of parliament too.

Right I've got to run in a bit so can't do a full piece but quick low-down on the options being put forward today.
Bill Cash motion. Fuck all to do with anything. Tries to create a new standing order basically giving the government control of the timetable forever. Shows no understanding of the notion of parliamentary sovereignty.
John Baron. No-deal motion. Enforces no-deal on April 12.

It's almost like your shouldn't soil yourself with hyperbolic emotional outbursts or it'll come back and haunt you.
Kind of a mixed metaphor there. Although being haunted by shite feels oddly appropriate.

Bercow asked what House can do about fact PM seems to be ruling out honouring indicative votes before they even take place. Bercow says proceed "with this process... and if there are such votes subsequently... wholehearted participation in them by colleagues is to be recommended"
Quite a telling moment there, especially the hint that the stronger participation, the stronger the case that they should be respected.

People’s Vote was previously known as Open Britain, and before that Stronger In, and was the lead campaigner for Remain in the 2016 Referendum. Which, it won’t have escaped your attention, lost, despite the considerable advantages Remain enjoyed. /1
It has been described by another one of the Remain campaigns as a project to "allow the political undead to rise and walk amongst the living again.” What that individual meant was that it is a vanity project for the personal aggrandisement of Blair and Mandelson.

The increased support for a ‘no deal’ Brexit is the ultimate failure of the Leave movement. It’s the inevitable consequence of the refusal to grasp details, come to terms with complexity & coalesce around a plan. Compromise can be frustrating. So instead they will have a tantrum.
Some Brexiteers advocated sensible solutions. The EFTA/EEA solution gained a lot of traction in the years before the ref. Even Farage had promoted it & countless others. See Farage below from 2011 essentially making the ‘Liberal Leave’ case!

A transition is sensible on its own terms, but we have agreed to this because of the lack of viable solutions we have so far offered. Certainly none have come from the parliament Leavers who, in rejecting the EEA & demanding regulatory divergence, have compounded the problem
Perhaps we could try bombing Dresden again or launching D-day 2 to force their hand? Otherwise, this comment is a total irrelevance. We would of course have facilitated the whole process if there had been anything like a plan, or willingness to accept a pragmatic compromise

I think we need to help Dan. Norway and Switzerland are in the #SchengenArea. Within the Schengen Area people can cross the borders without passport control. Try driving a lorry full of goods into Norway nd Switzerland and you go through customs checks.
This is Svinesund Customs Station at the main border crossing between Norway and Sweden. It can handle up to 2500 lorries a day. Clearing customs usually takes less than ten minutes, but may tale a couple of hours.
