When Irish people say "the brits are at it again", this is one such "it" at which it would appear, they are very much at.
A reminder: only ~7% of British people are educated privately, and a fraction of those at schools - like Eton or Winchester - that you've heard of. Those who do, emerge with sufficient self regard they hark back to school rivalries in the Commons, during middle age. Mortifying.
It's like a wedding where the groom's dad goes on a long, in-joke laden speech about the goings-on in the local football club, resulting in raucous, knowing laughter from about 12% of attendees and mortified bemusement from everyone else. But this is that on steroids.
