It’s NOT MV3 being tabled for tomorrow - some sort of Brexit motion is being pencilled in though.
My understanding is that Lidington and Cox went into see Speaker at 830 this morning to try to sort it out. Doesn’t seem like it was enough for an MV3.
Meanwhile DUP source: “No negotiations today”.
The only reason to get Commons to sit tomorrow is to respect the EU Council calendar of a decision on the Withdrawal Agreement by tomorrow..

That would not be Meaningful Vote but could open up the May 22nd extension. However would provide no clarity on future framework at all..
Speaker Bercow- I have seen no motion.. confirm meeting two senior Govt members (my story about Lidington & Cox)

I have not changed my mind about the convention [of not bringing same proposition back]

This appears to be a significant intervention - but appears to have been made in a letter to other members of the Shadow Cabinet - ahead of emergency meeting tonight.
NEW - I’ve obtained full letter from the shadow Foreign Secretary to the shadow Cabinet ahead of the meeting - she calls for a vote in SC about a confirmatory public vote, with Remain as an option, says she will vote for both,
1. “if we look like reaching any other decision than confirmatory vote that would be in breach of the decision made unanimously by Conference in Liverpool and overwhelmingly supported by our members and it needs to be put to a vote by the Shadow Cabinet.”

🔥 Carney also says the idea tariff free trade be now guaranteed... without a deal via WTO Article 24 (ie key to the so-called Malthouse compromise) “Forget the fiction… (it's) absolute nonsense. It needs to be called out.”
And then goes on to mention Customs Union "I might point out that they want to become better acquainted with the secretary of state for Trade who in Parliament has made the point that it cannot apply unless both parties agree, and unless you're moving towards a... customs union."

1) Why Labour #Brexit Conference policy is flawed

Unfortunately Ben is wrong here, Corbyn is following the agreed policy here because that policy let's him do exactly what he wants on Brexit, not what the members want

The policy is a well crafted stitch up
2) there's 2 consistent themes from Corbyn supporters
a) this is the policy Labour conference overwhelmingly supported
b) Corbyn's following that policy to the letter
Both of these are true, but neither stand up to critical examination if we're being honest
3) in terms of the first "this is the policy conference supported" well, as a remainer its essentially the same as the non meaningful vote May tried to create
May's choice was her deal or no. Deal which, if true, is no deal at all
It was the same with Labour conference policy

1) Corbyn & #Brexit - a history
lot of dismay about this statement from Corbyn, an attempt to shut down the #PeoplesVote campaign which has majority support in the Labour party

But really, the signs were all there, and the "treacherous" Labour MPs, it turns out, were right
2) way back before the referendum, when we thought Remain was in the bag, Corbyn won his first leadership election.
The entire front bench went to see him, because they were worried Corbyn wouldn't really support Remain

Most believed him, Chuka Umunna didn't & resigned the bench
3) Then Corbyn had a very lacklustre Ref campaign, asked for A50 to be invoked "now" when Remain lost, and began a long process of supporting & reinforcing #Brexit.

His entire front bench in essence resigned, to force him from office because of his poor ref campaign

1. Today in #Brexit tedium: You all saw the Barnier tweet reiterating that a Canada+++ is available and has been from the beginning. The ultra brexiters have taken that to mean an FTA plus whatever fiction they want tacked on to it.
2. They are dishonestly claiming this as a vindication of their position, conveniently ignoring that the EU will not agree to begin talks on any such agreement unless the UK signs up to an NI backstop. The EU is entirely consistent on this.
3. The ultas claim that a Canada+++ deal where they get to define what the plusses mean means that we don't need a backstop, Two problems here. The EU won;t agree to it and secondly, the details of their proposal has the same basic flaw as Chequers which the EU already declined.

1. Plenty of people are talking about the serious threat #Brexit poses to the economy as though remaining was an entirely consequence free decision. It certainly wasn't. By voting to remain we might very well have deferred one or two problems but they would only ambush us later.
2. For starters the stresses that led many to vote leave would still be present and would remain unaddressed. Had we voted Remain the establishment would have paid lip service to the losers but by now the referendum would be ancient history and theyd revert to business as usual.
3. And business as usual is exemplified by the Mayor of London whose top priority this week is to ban burger adverts on the tube. Nevermind the slow motion massacre on the streets of London. This is the bread and butter of the Westminster bubble.

I'm currently at this #Brexit conference in Copenhagen, where the British ambassador and several #DExEU officials will be on panels with representatives of Danish trade and security. It'll be very interesting to see what's said, especially in light of May's recent Munich speech.
And now that I'm not desperately trying to keep up with livetweeting it, I shall turn my mess of self-retweets into a proper thread. #Brexit #BrexitDK
acknowledges #Brexit will have challenges; emphasises no naïveté regarding "land of milk and honey". Refreshing sense of pragmatism; we'll see how #DExEU and DK reps present it.

1) “950,000 job losses” is predicated on leaving the EU so not yet. Certainly no large scale losses have occurred

2) Since Brexit real weekly earnings have fallen by 0.5% ons.gov.uk/generator?uri=… mostly due to inflation. That’s £25 so far.
