Jody Wilson-Raybould's recording has her saying, point blank, that she resisted the Deferred Prosecution Agreement because "what I'm trying to do is protect him." How do you spin that she's the traitor after that?
My take, as of an hour ago, was: This audio recording can't do much but back up what Wilson-Raybould said on the record.

But man, does it ever back up her up as being thoughtful and cooperative on this file, despite the pressure.
I will say: To just listen to Wernick, his position *is*, by itself, reasonable. But when you put it against what Wilson-Raybould is saying, it falls apart. Backing up the idea that Trudeau's politburo refused to listen to her on this.
There is an argument to be had as to whether Wilson-Raybould breached law society rules on recording conversations — but recording your calls is not, proof of anything. I, for example, record all my calls. Canada is one-party consent.
Also: I don't really think this audio throws Wernick under the bus. He comes across, as he did at committee, as a civil servant being sent to war by his boss.
I grant that Wernick comes off as partisan for some but (and I don't mean to be condescending) those people may not totally grasp PCO's role as the conduit between the civil service and cabinet.
