What happened between Sunday and today that made Barr expand the list of things he will cut from the Mueller Report?

On Sunday, it was (1) grand jury material and (2) stuff that impacts ongoing cases.

Now he's added (3) intelligence information and (4) "embarrassing" material.

Expert tip 1: One provision for sharing grand jury info does not even require prior court approval.

Expert tip 2: Barr is apparently daring Congress with idea it needs to start impeachment proceedings to qualify for the other provision. Lederman's analysis shows that's false.

To be clear: It's horseshit that NYT reported this as if it's credible.

It's not. Barr committed an egregiously political act in weighing in on Trump's guilt. Barr hoped Mueller would not put him there, but he nevertheless did precisely what COmey did.
Raise your hand if you really believe Mueller included info they believed was grand jury material in their summaries.

Ongoing investigations, yes. Classified info, sort of. GJ? Nope.

The GOP is confabulating their narrative around the Mueller report:
- We have to redact Grand Jury and intel info so the public doesn't see it.
(No, they don't - Intel and Judiciary Cttees regularly review this info; don't redact it for them)

- The report didn't indict Trump, so he's innocent.
(No. Mueller reported 400 pp of evidence, and declined to recommend indictment, because the DoJ can't.)
- We have to mask "peripheral" parties
(No. There is no legal basis for this, unless they're under investigation.)

- We have to redact evidence from ongoing investigations
(No. That didn't happen in the GOP-led Benghazi or HRC emails probes. Or did Congress and the DoJ break the law back then? No moving the goalposts.)
