Who told the BBC? (I notice that John Redwood seemed pleased to see Rogers go.) On 3 January 2017, Rogers resigned. Was he forced? What on earth had Rogers done? He had told Ministers, CONFIDENTIALLY, that a UK-EU trade deal might take 10 years to materialise.(Btw, he was right.)
Ministers insisted a deal could be done within 2 years. Well, they certainly got that wrong! Nicholas MacPherson, Civil Servant Mandarin, now a Crossbench Peer, said at the time [Rogers'] departure marked a "wilful" and "total destruction" of EU expertise within Whitehall.
The Cretins responsible for this nuked us right then. We are in a mess because of conniving, ignorant, greedy Conservative Ministers & MPs who seem to be following the money in their enthusiasm for that easy Brexit. Everyone who said a deal would be easy; ...
everyone who falsely said the EU was corrupt; everyone who lied to the fishermen; everyone who partied with Russia or Trump, or with the Far Right anywhere in the world.; everyone in the media who conspired to distort the truth over many years...
all need to be brought before an enquiry, so that any obloquy can be put before the nation. This will be our gift of penitence to any other EU nation that thinks, for one second that following the British lead is anything other than DIRE FOLLY.
