The current mayoral scandal in Baltimore, which is *wild*, is also a good reminder that elected officials maintaining side hustles while in office is an obvious vector for corruption, something with some very obvious applications outside Baltimore.

In Chicago, Aldermen run law firms with business before the city, in state legislatures across the country, lawmakers do the same. And of course there's the president who might as well put a "Bribe Me" marquee on Trump Hotel, Mar a Lago and all the rest.
