1 Almost end of a long week in SW1 altho Lords look like they'll be going for quite some time yet - Cross party talks sound like they are serious and genuine, negotiators got into the guts of both their positions and technical details today
2. I'm told there might be more contacts tonight - not more face to face talks but it's all very live - skeptism is labour circles over whether govt is doing more so far than trying to explain merits of its deal, rather than suggest areas where they might budge
3. But this isn't just a stunt - suggestions it might be clear by tomorrow afternoon if process will actually be able to deliver anything, but talks, as we know, often turn to more talks, and more talks, and more talks
4. There is obvs deadline of PM having to go to Brussels next Weds with something to say - but that is not the same as having a fully worked out deal - would be an enormous political turnaround if suddenly, after all this time, a firm cross party compromise emerges that can last
5. Don't forget behind the scenes - some Brexiteers still trying to organise to push for departure next week rather than leave with no deal - and in Labour big split over whether they could accept compromise to deliver brexit without promise of another referendum
