There's nothing better for your anxiety than being told by an "assistant" from your doctor's office that the medication you've taken for 25 years is PRN only, so it's okay if I don't have enough for the weekend. 1/
I'd love to know what her medical degree is, and whether she has an MD in psychiatry. Because certainly her knowledge contadicts what I've been told by MD doctors over the last 25 years. Also, fighting with idiots like this causes stress and anxiety. 2/
She works for Associated Clinic of Psychiatry in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Certainly, they can answer any questions Medicaid will ask if I need to go to urgent care or be hospitalized due to lack of medication. That's your tax payer dollars by the way. 2/
Since my breakdown 25 years ago, I paid for private insurance out of pocket, sometimes paid for medication and doctor's visits out of pocket when they weren't covered by insurance. I finally turned to Medicaid 2 years ago because I can't work and am taking money from family. 3/
My mother killed herself when she was 36 and I was 8 years old. She suffered from psychosis and depression. The day I turned 37 and was older than my mother was a bittersweet day for me. I am 55 now. I haven't had to be hospitalized since my severe breakdown when I was 30. 4/
I have survived and succeeded because I take my medications. I see a doctor regularly. I am in many ways, a success story. But if someone without a medical degree wants to make arbitrary decisions about my life, okay. 5/
But she isn't practicing health care, nor is she practicing medicine. Again, ACP will have to answer to the state and their fibancing board. But I will be writing a complaint. I'm tired of Minnesota, and tired of of your mental "health care" system. You can do better. 6/
I'm already exhausted and disheartened by the terrible care I've gotten in this state. But I'm not going to let this slide. I'll find the relevant state commissions and legislations and I'll write letters. They may have no effect. But I'll feel better. 7/
And maybe someday when the complaints grow to be too many, and the piles of letters grow to be too high, state legislatiors will actually do something. Until then, I won't let a petty director in a small regional doctor's office determine my life. My life is more than that. 8/
