people like Theresa May are such a tedious waste of everyone's time. She's got it in her head that asking for stupid things she can't have is somehow a show of strength.

It's just so fuckin imbecile.
And she looks so weak, every time she puffs herself up about her "red lines" She hasn't got any red lines. She's in no position to have red lines. Beggars can't be having red lines.
If you want to posture strength from a position of weakness, the best thing to do is work out what you can get, and then ask for that.

A lot of people keep misunderstanding Brexit for the same reason. They think politicians can do pretty much whatever the fuck they like.
And this is bollocks.
Politicians are not free to do whatever the fuck they like. I've been explaining this for the last three years.
Politicians can SAY whatever they like, but they are severely constrained in what they can DO.
Politicians are not free to destroy the country and the economy. There are constraints on what politicians can do.
The problem is they've got everyone running around screeching about the end of the world as if they HAVE got the freedom to do it.

Letwin-Cooper passes the final stage in the Lords today, and gets royal assent tomorrow.
So. How does Letwin-Cooper actually work, you say.
Letwin-Cooper requires that the day after the Act receives royal assent, exactly this motion must be put to the House of Commons
"That this House agrees for the purpose of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2019 to the Prime mInister seeking an extension of the period specified in Article 50 (3) of the Treaty on European Union to a period ending on [ . . .]"

China is the number one producer in the world of wind and solar power, but don't use it themselves. While they manufacture 80% of the world's solar panels, they install less than 5% and build a new coal fired power station every week.

There's a lot about investigations, a counsel-approved statement about how well the school is "cooperating", and about "allegations" and "ascertaining the truth". This man says NOTHING about how the girls concerned are, how the students are in general, or of a care plan. /Thread
Remember: this is the exact same school where there was a massive fire less than a year ago. I threaded about that, guided by the media coverage at the time. I'll link that thread below.
These girls, who already had to deal with one massive security and care breach towards the end of last year while they were asleep (cause notwithstanding) are now having to deal with another tragedy. It is too much. It is TOO MUCH.
