Small thread: Modi's ratings were falling. Surveys were showing <200 seats. Pulwama happened. Modi continued his photoshoot in Corbett. He didn't visit single martyr's family. Kept doing political speeches from govt platforms. (Remember elections were not announced till then).
Balakote happened. Modi went straight to Rajasthan for a rally, with Pulwama martyrs' photos behind him. He didn't address nation, like Imran Khan did.
Pak retaliated. Wg Cmdr Abhinandan got caught. We also lost 6 Air Force personnel in helicopter crash. Modi didn't utter a word. Pak released Abhinandan. Modi didn't meet him. Continued with speeches. Remember, same Modi reached Mumbai & did PC while 26/11 was still going on.
Ever since, Modi is begging votes in name of Pulwama & Balakote. He didn't own up Pulwama intelligence failure. He didn't own up loss of IAF personnel. But he wants votes in their name. We do not know, what we achieved in Balakote. But one who asks, is anti-national.
In my visit to Kashmir last week, every single person said, Modi "allowed" Pulwama to happen, despite intelligence inputs. He ignored CRPF's request of air transfer. Today, the way he's taking up Pulwama & Balakote, I tend to believe that they were right.
And veteran journalist Prem Shankar Jha also feels so. Pulwama was all for Votes. The soldiers were "allowed" to be killed, only for VOTES.
Mr Jha has put lot of evidence on the available intelligence, which Modi ignored.

Sometimes the sacrifice speaks louder than the size of the gift.

There is this one time I asked my mum why the number of separation of couples has increased... Her answer was quite direct. "People no longer know the difference between compromise and sacrifice."

That answer got me thinking deeply about sacrifice in relation to relationships.

For the longest time, I saw sacrifice as an act of sympathy and compromising. I felt like many people sacrifice their careers, dreams or even lifestyle in order to make relationships work.
My reasoning was, why give up something precious in order to gain or maintain something? Yet what I kept doing in my past relationships was giving up things that were of better prospect in order not to risk my relationships?
