there's literally nobody capable of not knowing that the sole nucleation point that caused people to question the validity of vaccines was undeniably a hoax, meaning absolutely everyone still doing it is doubling down because they built their identity around it

at this point the only reason anyone would begin thinking this if they hadn't been victim of the original hoax is because of that weird thing people do where they know something is wrong and deliberately do it because it's wrong in order to cross over and be stuck on the fringe

this is a thing people do. i don't have any way of proving it i just swear i've seen the evidence of it and maybe done it myself. people know that if they say something horrifying, they'll *have* to double down. so they're locked in. no doubts, no looking back.

it must be so comforting, in a way, to just cast yourself out of the entire human condition like that. you've chosen a conviction as your pivot, your magnetic north, so that you don't have to do anything else ever again

no weighing of evidence on this, or maybe any other topic, ever again. you are free. you don't have to work to reach any conclusions or doubt your actions in future or retrospect because you've abandoned reason on purpose

once you say something that you know is unforgivable you're committed. you have to do it forever. i know what it's like to commit myself to bad ideas, both major and minor, and there is a relief in it.

you think, well, i'm on the road to disaster, but I am *on* the road. it's a straightaway. i just press on the gas and keep the car within the lines and I don't have to make any more decisions. i just go.

i don't think antivaxxers do anything except that. i don't think there's a single second they don't think about that. it's like walking around with a murder on your conscience.

i've been fabulously wrong in public before and it weighs on me, just like the few times i've stolen little things. you wake up thinking about it. you dream about it. it's all-encompassing. it's always there.

i think that's what all cult shit is about, and pretty much everything that isn't leftism is a cult. guns are a cult. trucks are a cult. worshipping single individuals or single ideas, idolatry, but above all else, absolute fixation on the single topic. no life outside of it.

when you live in the cult you don't live. you wash clothes for the Lord and you cook for the Lord and you fuck for the Lord. whenever i look at anyone who holds any of the many incredibly poisonous convictions that we are up against that's what i see.

i don't think the trump fucks can watch a football game without thinking about how it interacts with the poopy pants infant they've been lying about worshiping for two years

a shitload of awful people told a huge lie in 2016 to spite The Damn Lib'rals and immediately got incredibly red in the face and have doubled down until they no longer have functioning brains

everything since the election has been a stammering, mortified attempt to pretend they really wanted to elect that shithead and thought he was a cool guy and not someone they knew nothing about other than those librals sure hated him

that's every fucking wrongheaded asshole in the entire world. the brexiters, trump fucks, antivaxxers, they all know they're wrong and they're on like six or seven layers of doubling down my dude

i can tell i'm old now because i just do not believe that all the wrong people don't know they're wrong and i no longer care to see it proven one way or another

in the last couple years i stopped caring why they're all wrong, insofar as i now believe they're all exactly the same person and they've all just chosen different ways to express their absolute soullessness, and i don't want them to change, i just want them disenfranchised

i don't really think enough of them can be rescued for it to be worth it, and most importantly i absolutely hate the idea of them getting to come back from what they've done, so who cares

i am too disgusted at this point to really want anything legitimate anymore. i mostly imagine "totalitarian regime but with decent morals" nowadays

in the wake of 2016 i found out how many glib, smirking sociopaths there are just on the internet, let alone everywhere else, and i'm not really convinced we can do anything about enough of them to matter

i used to think people were mostly confused but now i think a tremendous number of people choose raw, undiluted evil, on purpose, knowingly, and i don't think that can be fixed. i'm too tired and sick to try. good luck to anyone who thinks they can do it, i'm rooting for you
