Protip: There are no reformists in the Iranian government, as @HeshmatAlavi has pointed out repeatedly.
If you want to run for civilian office? You have to be cleared by the religious branch of the government. If you want to be appointed to a civilian post? You have to be cleared by the religious branch. You want to be in the religious branch of the government? Ayatollah vets you.
So how the hell do you get a 'reformist' movement in Iran? You don't. You get the hardliners, and then you get people who claim to be a reformist but have to be a hardliner to actually be allowed to run for office.
Really makes you wonder how many of the government officials dressing as IRGC in 'solidarity' with them were simply digging out their old uniforms 🤔
