If we found out a leading Republican presidential candidate had sought out the support of the worst segregationists to stop busing in the 1970s, what would coverage look like today?

Of course, it's funny how not a single reporter had ever run across these letters until now. The guy was vice president for eight years. And now that he's fallen into disfavor among progressives, he has to pay for his sins.
The other interesting aspect about the busing debate, is that today it's the Democrats, typically against school choice. whose policies favor the racial segregation of schools.
