Here's 7 logical reasons why NOT to vote LNP based on protecting the Rule of Law.

Most people understand the Rule of Law exists only when the executive (Queen/GG), the judiciary (judges) & the legislature (Parliament/politicians) don't interfere in each other's business right?

Foundation of our society.

So, why does LNP wanna mess with it?

The common law system has worked for millennia, yet on several occasions this LNP govt has threatened our very Rule of Law by coming 'perilously close' (quote from @markdreyfusQCMP) to undermining the very system they claim to defend.

So, if you look at it from a Rule of Law perspective, the LNP don't have a real good track record.

And personally, I don't think there's anyone in the LNP that is smarter than every legal mind since the Magna Carta, so I don't think they should mess with the Rule of Law.

a few observations:

SA set new all-time minimum *grid* demand: 599MW @ 1pm on 21 oct — primarily driven by increasing rooftop solar. (check out that emerging duck curve!)

highest prices on record in each region (except TAS), on the back of lowest Q4 demand since 2012!

reasons:
• reduced gas generation availability
• high gas prices
• coal generation failures
• higher prices charged by hydro generators
black coal and gas set the price more often than gas and coal in every market compared with the previous quarter.

(few people understand that black coal *frequently* sets the energy price in SA, VIC and TAS, despite them having no *local* black coal generation.)

1) never met a woman who said "this won't work" at my infertility. Have met women who have seemed upset for me, women who have asked if I did want kids, women who have asked how I would feel about my partner carrying.

As someone who works in discrimination law, I’m frustrated at how this area of law is consistently misrepresented in order to score political points. Here’s a thread on what religious schools can and can’t do, showing the govt amendments to be unnecessary & ill-informed #auspol
1) Diecriminarion against LGBT people is generally unlawful, but there are exemptions in the Sex Discrimination Act which allow religious schools to discriminate against LGBT students, staff & contractors. The proposals from Labor & the Coalition remove only the student exemption
2) The ‘fear’ over removing this student exemption is that religious schools will no longer be able to act in accordance with their religious faith or religious teachings. One example the PM and others have noted is that schools should be able to require students to attend chapel

Happy to! Here is your primer on what the hell is happening in Australia, as retold by me, who is not an Australian!

First thing to know about #auspol (which is their national political hashtag) is that Aussies are just insanely backstabby, politically speaking.
Also these people hold grudges so strongly that any Appalachian would be impressed and a bit worried.

Australia has a multiparty parliamentary system with ranked voting, which means it’s nearly impossible for one party to hold power alone. They form coalitions with others.
Just at the moment, the people in charge are the Liberals, in coalition with right-wing parties like the Nationals and One Nation. Libs are basically Bush Republicans with a lot of Paul Ryan tossed in. Nats is sort of Tea Partyish and One Nation is racist and also fully bonkers.
