Take heart, America. The Trump Regime's clumsy cover-up is already falling apart, partly because it's so stunningly clumsy.

A cover-up cannot possibly work when it's obvious that there's a cover-up, when it's so incompetent no one can pretend the cover-up isn't happening.

Just today:

1) Trump announced Barr will present the redacted report at a news conference.

Presidents do not announce news conferences by Attorneys General. The Department of Justice is supposed to be independent. Presidents aren't involved in day-to-day functions.

If Trump IS involving himself in DoJ, he should therefore hide it. But Trump can't help himself. He must brag. He must be the one to announce Big Things. So Trump blabbed, and revealed his intimate knowledge of DoJ's plans.

2) Adam Schiff announced he'd been told the redacted report won't be released until hours after the press conference. Congress won't see it. The press won't see it. America won't see it. Trump apologists will have hours to spin it before we see it.

This is an amazingly a shockingly stupid admission that even in redacted form, the report is damning.

3) Mueller's spokesman announced that neither Mueller nor any of the people who worked with him will be present at the news conference.

The news conference announcing the release of Mueller's report.

The implications of this are enormous.

This is Mueller--and all of his people--distancing themselves from Barr--who is the chief law enforcement officer in America.

This is the man who conducted the most important investigation in American history telling us Barr is an untrustworthy and dishonest partisan hack.

4) The New York Times has reported something we all suspected--that the White House, despite ongoing denials, has had access to Mueller's report for days, possibly weeks.

Putting aside the unethical nature of giving an investigative report to the target of that report--

--this is yet another indication of the unholy union of the presidency and the Department of Justice, another indication that DoJ is simply doing Trump's bidding.

5) There is the timing of release of the redacted report, on the day before Passover,

on the Thursday before Easter. There could not be a more obvious indication of the desire to bury the report, a clearer announcement that the report, even with Barr's cutouts, will damn Trump and his regime.

6) And finally, we've been told there is a 50- to 150-page "rebuttal" to the report written by White House lawyers--which raises the obvious question of why there has to be a rebuttal to a report that Trump and Barr insisted exonerates Trump.

Clearly, all this points to a coordinated attempt to own the narrative and to distract, hide, and cover-up what is in the report. Clearly also, there have been leaks--well, gushers--from this White House. There is no way a cover-up this clumsy can succeed.

By Friday, the House of Representatives will issue subpoenas.

Tomorrow, the Trump Regime begins to fall.
