Hosting the Easter Day reflection!

Good morning!
Grace, mercy and peace –

from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ –

be with us all as we gather
All who are thirsty, this is the place for water.

All who are hungry, this is the place to be fed.

God speaks, and all who will listen will have life.
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
to you be glory and praise for ever.

Your steadfast love extends to the heavens: your faithfulness never ceases.

Illuminate our hearts with your wisdom: strengthen our lives with your word,

for you are the fountain of life;
Alleluia! Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
This is the day when our Lord Jesus Christ passed from death to life.
Throughout the world Christians celebrate the awesome power of God.
As we hear his word and proclaim all that God has done,
we can be confident that we shall share his victory over death &live with him for ever
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb &saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. She ran to Peter &the disciple Jesus loved:
“They've taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
Peter &he disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.  Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb
Peter went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there &the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was lying in its place separate from the linen.  Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, went inside. He saw &believed
(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

 Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
Alleluia! Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”

She turned toward him & cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (“Teacher”).

Jesus said,
Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers &tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father &your Father, to my God &your God.’
God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world,

but that the world might be saved through him.

Therefore we pray to our heavenly Father

for people everywhere according to their needs.
Father in heaven,

your name be holy,

your kingdom come,

your will be done.

Daily bread received,

forgiveness received,

forgiveness given freely.

Temptation refused, from evil protected.

The kingdom, power, and glory are yours

now and for ever.  Amen.
All our problems

we send to the cross of Christ.

All our difficulties

we send to the cross of Christ.

All the devil’s works

we send to the cross of Christ.

All our hopes

we set on the risen Christ.
Risen Lord Jesus,
as Mary Magdalene met you in the garden on the morning of your resurrection, so may we meet you today &very day:

speak to us as you spoke to her;
reveal yourself as the living Lord;
renew our hope &kindle our joy;

send us to share the good news with others.
God go before you
as visionary & pathfinder

God go behind you
protecting your past

God alongside you
as companion & friend

The blessing of God:
Father, Son, Holy Week:
be with you.
Alleluia! Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
