Here is a thread explaining how to counter the inundation of false messages (aka the firehose of falsehoods).

Instead of refuting every lie. Teach others how to wear a raincoat.
It means teach others how to spot a lie or fake news. Expose the grift and the grifter becomes powerless. Explain what’s happening and how to spot it.
For eg., SNC scandal and JWR/JP.

Often referred to as having integrity and upholding rule of law. FAKE NEWS

Lawyers with integrity don’t secretly tape their clients. For example, Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer. Why didn’t JWR offer the recording at her first committee date?
People with integrity don’t peddle their story to MSM. Why did JP feel the need to give interviews with no content, just insinuation and a “promise” of more information?
Why is SNC such a scandal when JWR admitted no laws were broken?

Asking questions is often better than offering facts. If people are interested in facts, they will seek them out.
No name calling or insinuations of lack of intelligence. Unless you’re knee deep into politics, the SNC scandal does sound plausible.

Teaching those seeking answers or confirmation of facts how to spot lies & false info is key to battling fake news.
In my experience, it isn’t worth the effort to argue. If someone is adamant they know the truth, I ask a question & move on, wish them well or offer them cheers.

Leaving the door open & a seed of doubt for future encounters. I may not change their mind, but the next person may.

This is the Consequentialist Libertarian & Dominionist Christian Alliance.
MSM is already complicit and amplifying Conservative Agenda. Canada Proud is the digital/social media element. Combined, this is the machinery that’s produced 7 provincial Conservative governments in the last 3 years.

This is an example of a ridiculous policy distraction.

Our nation’s existence is at risk, and NDP are promising cheaper cell phone rates.

Is that so the coastal folks can call for help when sea level rises?
The minutiae the NDP focus on to gain progressive votes is an indication how out of touch from reality this party has become.

This is in the same vein as CPC & carbon pricing making your home unaffordable to heat, or your vehicle to drive.
Minimizing the reality of the existential threat to our nation by ignoring what a Conservative majority & NDP minority would mean for issues like climate change, federal purview, human rights, private property rights & our Constitution & Charter is the aim of this policy.

This shouldn’t be surprise news. In 2008, Harper’s actions and approval of Exxon’s Kearl oil sands clearly indicated GHG emissions were not being reported accurately.

(This, let’s remember, is the SNC call the PM *asked* the Clerk to make the *day after* PMO (Butts-Telford) hauled in JWR’s chief of staff to tell her to get in line (ie DPA) on SNC)

Trump said that there had just been a court ruling against the use of the motto “In God We Trust”: “Did you see some court ruled against it the other day? 'In God We Trust.'"

There was no ruling the other day. And all recent rulings have come down in favour of In God We Trust.
Trump said that Dov Hikind, a NY legislator who has praised him, is such a staunch Democrat that he “probably never uttered the word Republican in his life” and “would never vote for a Republican.”

Hikind endorsed Bush, McCain and Romney. He said he wrote in Paul Ryan in 2016.

THREAD: Because there are so many genuinely concerned people (and not just trolls) who worry about medically affirming trans kids, here’s a thread explaining some of the reasons why this kind support is sometimes necessary. And why it’s not as scary as some lead you to believe.
First, if a child feels safe enough to tell you they’re trans or think they might be, that’s a big deal. We, as parents, need to take that role & responsibility seriously. Your child just revealed something that likely took a LOT to say and are putting their trust in you to help.
But HOW do we help? That’s where some parents get stumped. Some fringe groups with loud voices warn against affirming a child in any way. Some are strictly against medical transition. Wasn’t there that video going around about the dangers of blockers?
