American media is a toxic dumpster fire.

You want to point out some good work by good people? Sure. It exists. And there are still pros out there.

But the juvenile, partisan, speculative, self-righteous, anti-Semitic, gas-lighting crap that passes for journalism is slowly giving America a frontal lobotomy.

I can’t listen to American news radio during my commute to work any more. I actually listen to BBC, knowing that even if I might dislike some of their biases, I know I am getting NEWS, and not 24/7 spin cycle garbage. Yes, the BBC.

Journalists here know that overall quality is going down. Many talk about it openly, lamenting the lack of funds, shift to digital, clickbait, etc. But explain the anti-Semitism, the egregious mistakes, the fawning over dictators. I’m waiting.

The partisanship of American media may have started us down this road. It certainly shifted the goalposts in terms of what passes for news. But partisanship doesn’t explain how utter drivel, autocrats’ propaganda, or Elders of Zion crap make it past the editors.

But hey, I hope the WHCD was fun. Don’t forget to post those selfies!
