As I read this story, basically anyone born before 1969, particularly teachers and health care professionals or others in contact with a lot of kids (parents in low-vax compliant areas) should get an MMR. (Consult your own doc, obvs.) npr.org/sections/healt…
Also people who travel a ton. No surprise there have been outbreaks in airports and trains, as well as college campuses and among little kids.
Evidently your doctor can also test to see if you still have immunity. Either way, if you're 50 or older and aren't super sure of your protection, talk to your doctor.

And fuck the anti-vaxxers that made all this happen.

1. Is it ageist for me to think that Bernie is too old to run for president?
2. I know ageism is bad, but as someone in my 50s who is experiencing the challenges that come with aging, I can't help but wonder how the heck Bernie thinks he can do the job of President at the age of 83 (the age he'll be at the end of his first term).
3. Look at RBG. She's f-ing superwoman, but at the age of 85 she's struggling to hang in there. Her job does not require a ton of travel, nor does it require high-profile public performances.

You know, there are multiple reasons why I've focused on self-pub, and this is one of them. When I was very focused on my fiction, I had my core of readers who saw *everything* I did.
I could write a new short story or a new flash fic or a new interactive thing or a new chapter of a serial and it would go in the one stop Alexandra shop, and everybody who was paying attention to my writing at all would see it, every time.

Most of the world focuses on deepwater-where the continental shelf drops off a cliff. But most of Gulf of Mexico oil and gas platforms are in the shallow waters and a lot of the safety issues are here, Interior safety records FOIAed by NYT show. A worker died in February here.
