Some questions needing answers (many answerable by Mueller):
1. Was there ever a sealed indictment of Assange for election related activities ? If so, what happened to it ?
2. Is DOJ using Rule of Specialty in extradition law to cut off election related prosecution of Assange ?
3. Was Don Jr. ever indicted under seal ? If so, what happened to it ?
4. Have *any* sealed indictments by SCO been quietly withdrawn by Barr ? Is withdrawal of an indictment reportable to Congress under SCO regs ?
5. Did Rosenstein give Barr a draft copy of the Report and, if so, when ? Did Barr lie yesterday in saying he had seen no copy of the Report b4 Mueller submitted on Mar. 22 ?
6. Did Barr and Mueller fight over the Report’s contents, prior to its delivery on Mar. 22 ? If so, what *text* were they contending over (since Barr says he saw none b4 Mar. 22) ?
7. If Barr and Mueller did fight over Report’s contents, what issues were they at odds over ? What changes, if any, were made as a result ?
8. Has U.S. Attorney Berman (SDNY) unrecused from Trump related investigations ?

THREAD One: Highlights of panel discussion at Noon today @ NYU Law School, titled “Probing Mueller,” featuring @PreetBharara (PB) and @NatashaBertrand (NB), chaired by Ryan Goodman @rgoodlaw (RG).
2. RG: What shd we look for in the report to be released tomorrow ? NB: Per convos she’s had w/ @neal_katyal, his SCO regs were never meant to cover a CI investigation. Mueller has therefore concentrated on crim investigations.
To extent there’s *any* trace of CI work in report, it will be heavily redacted. This leaves unresolved many ‘conspiracy/collusion’ related issues: TT meeting; Manafort passing polling data to KK; role of Mifsud, etc.

@tribelaw What if an indictment of Assange for election related offenses has *already* been filed, under seal, at the same time as the indictment of Stone ? What if they were 'twin' indictments, each buttressing the other ? +
@tribelaw What if that Assange indictment, brought by the SCO and handed to either the DC USA's office or EDVA USA, has either been quietly withdrawn, or is about to be effectively quashed by operation of the Rule of Specialty ?+
@tribelaw Mueller's testimony, either public or private, will clarify whether such a sealed indictment exists, or existed. If it does, failure to reference it in the Assange extradition application will reveal a conscious plan to 'deep six' it via Rule of Specialty.

THREAD: OK, law students, our class today is titled "What's Fishy About the Assange Indictment and Extradition Application ?" We'll focus on an arcane doctrine called the "Rule of Specialty." First, some case law. Take careful notes.
Robt. Iraola (DOJ, Office of Int'l Affairs) summarized the Rule: "Under doctrine of specialty, recognized by the Supreme Court over a century ago in U.S. v. Rauscher, an extradited fugitive is subject to prosecution only for those offenses for which he or she was surrendered."
And from another source: "The Rule of Specialty generally requires that an extradited defendant be tried for the crimes on which extradition has been granted, and none other. United States v. Van Cauwenberghe, 827 F.2d 424, 428 (9th Cir. 1987)."

This attack on #WikiLeaks is an escalation of Obama’s war on truthtellers. While Obama was relentlessly prosecuted whistleblowers more than all other previous administrations combined, corporate media effectively kept the battlefield out of public sight.

Some journalists keenly cite FBI informer Marcy Wheeler's wild & eager speculations on EDVA's #Assange indictment. But indications so far in fact point to the indictment relating to @xychelsea's case & @WikiLeaks revelations of US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Cablegate, GITMO.
First of all, the document indicates that the indictment is in the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA). This is where the WikiLeaks Grand Jury (Ref:10GJ3793) has been empanelled since 2010 in order to indict Assange over the publications that Chelsea Manning was convicted over.
The @WikiLeaks Grand Jury was headed at the time by Neil MacBride (who was also responsible for the prosecution of CIA whistleblower @JohnKiriakou). MacBride is an aggressive proponent of the extraterritorial application of US criminal jurisdiction. washingtonpost.com/world/national…
