(I’m not saying that the admission of the phonecall in itself proves that Private Pike was the source of the leak. I’m saying that arguing it proves the opposite is an extremely lame alibi.)
The quote should of course have been, “Obviously it wasn’t my cricket ball that broke your window. Because if it HAD been I wouldn’t have been so stupid as to get caught outside your house with a cricket bat, would I?”
