A thread of market updates which many of you should incorporate into your estimate of market worth, use to inform plans, and perhaps quote against counterparties in future negotiations.
My general response with respect to folks who feel like the market is outcompeting their budget for talent is that while I’m sympathetic to almost all startups in almost all circumstances the correct play here is probably being a better capitalist.
AppAmaGooBookSoft have ginormous blind spots with respect to who they hire. There, that’s your opportunity.

Or come up with something they can’t match and/or can’t match across their entire eng team for cultural issues.

Being a founder means getting good at product and sales.
All recruiting is product, marketing, and sales for your company’s side hustle in jobs.

Things I have an extreme amount of aesthetic distaste for: Systems which have an obviously optimal play which civilians are largely unaware of and participants are unable to tell civilians about due to professional guild rules.

This is obviously an affront to justice.
One example I can actually discuss because it is explicitly not a professional interest: if you’re in the middle class, you have your IRA at a brokerage.

You might sensibly wonder “Hmm can I contribute to a Roth IRA this year.”

Your brokerage cannot tell you the true answer.
There is a formal answer, which is “Here is an IRS chart of income against contribution limits. If you have questions, speak to a tax adviser.”

This answer is so incomplete as to be false, and the falsity is largely available to folks wealthy enough to have tax advisors.

You don’t need permission to do hard things, but the world thinks you need permission to do hard things, and it will tell you this, and so many people who are capable of doing hard things have no demonstrable success at it because they haven’t received permission yet.
(There exist elements of the set of hard things that one factually does need permission for, but they’re exceptions rather than the rule. Writing a book, for example, is a hard thing; you can do it alone in a room with about $5 of materials.)
Is this operationalizable? One way: if you explicitly filter on “has X done a hard thing”, consider providing an escape hatch for folks with ability but who life hasn’t arranged explicit permission for yet.

Also, more licit opportunities for showable hard things a good thing.

Take your phone number off your Gmail/etc accounts and use hardware or TOTP 2FA.
Incidentally, while the cryptocurrency community provides easy one-stop-shopping for high-value targets, once criminals develop a business process to exploit this they could plausibly expand into adjacent markets.

This *very much* includes startup founders, etc.
Ideally you do business with financial institutions which will not just give all the money irreversibly to anyone capable of spoofing your cell phone but strongly consider defense-in-depth against attacks like this.

Some friends/acquaintances of mine had near misses to similar.

This surveillance tech is deployed at Sabarimala currently with Artificial Intelligence based high-res cameras fitted onto drones synced with various databses and biometric profiles under what they call "Predictive Policing" - stopping crime before it starts or future crimes.
Under Predictive Policing Hot Spot analysis police personnel will analyze & predict geographical areas of increased crime on basis of crime data. It will process all patterns relating to time of occurrence, exact locations, even shops, hotels, bars or other establishments.
Detectives will study social & infrastructural environment of a location & its local demography. Analysis will also be made of such things as local weather conditions, days on which offences are committed, whether it was around pay-day etc. But how they know its your pay-day? :)
