NEW: Prosecutors unsealed a complaint calling this vessel, the M/V Wise Honest, a money laundering vehicle illicitly shipping coal for North Korea in defiance of U.S. and U.N. sanctions.

Indonesia authorities detained it in April 2018, before Trump-Kim summit. @CourthouseNews

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman declined to comment on when U.S. authorities first suspected the Wise Honest had been used for sanctions violation following the ship's interception.

He said the ship is currently heading to American Samoa.
