We talked a lot about Beto in our Austin podcast. I don't think he's underrated exactly, and there are 4-6 people I think are more likely to win the nomination, but he does have some assets: money, good retail skills, reasonably high favorability ratings. 53eig.ht/2Va000Y
I personally think Warren and (especially) Harris are more likely to emerge out of the pack, for instance. But Warren, Harris and Beto are polling fairly similarly, and they each have their own mix of assets and liabilities, so that conclusion involves a fair amount of guesswork.
The thing that does distinguish Harris and Warren is that they form a more obvious contrast to the frontrunner, Biden. Beto probably needs Biden to falter, whereas they could conceivably consolidate enough of the non-Biden vote to take him on one-on-one.
