Liberals believe that women – and women alone – have the right to choose what they do with their own bodies.

It’s something that we’ll always defend.

What’s becoming alarmingly clear is this – Conservatives can’t say the same. #StandForChoice

➡️Yesterday in Ottawa, Toronto, and all over social media, we saw a side of Conservatives that they often try to hide. MPP Sam Oosterhoff pledged to “make abortion unthinkable.”

Premier Ford failed to distance himself from the remarks. #StandForChoice

➡️Rachael Harder, the Conservatives’ Status of Women critic was one of a dozen members of the Conservative caucus who attended the protest on Parliament Hill against a woman’s right to choose.

She has proudly defended her position against reproductive rights. #StandForChoice

➡️Andrew Scheer is touted as having an ‘impeccable’ voting record against a woman’s right to choose.

On Tuesday, he promised to continue Harper’s policy of refusing funding to int'l organizations that provide life-saving contraceptives & abortion services. #StandForChoice

➡️Our Feminist International Assistance Policy is making sure that aid dollars support a comprehensive approach to sexual & reproductive health & rights, including universal access to family planning, contraception, sexuality education & access to safe and legal abortion.

➡️ At home, we’ve taken action to ensure that safe & legal abortion services are available, including repealing the outdated section criminalizing abortion in the Criminal Code, investing in groups like Planned Parenthood, and increasing access to Plan B and Mifegymiso across 🇨🇦.

➡️ This newly emboldened position is one we should all pay attention to.

Women’s rights are human rights, but from Ford to Scheer, Oosterhoff to Harder, the message is clear:

Conservatives are not on the side of women.
