America has only been at peace for 16 years of our history and spend trillions on overseas wars.

I believe in American exceptionalism and that free enterprise democracy should be the model over China’s authoritarian capitalism. But our endless wars are hurting our strategic ability to win. Instead we need a Sputnik like mentality at home to mobilize for the new century.
I have consistently spoken out against the Chinese incarceration of Muslims and human rights record. My point is simply that instead of getting in endless wars, America should invest in infrastructure, clean energy and education to make sure our values win.
We must mobilize like we did in the 50s and 60s in response to the Soviet’s putting a satellite in space. That fueled massive investments in our nation in NSF, NIH, DARPA and helped us win the Cold War. We won by a healthy paranoia and not underestimating competitors.
