My mom is a semi-unintentional feminist. That’s how I was raised. It’s not to say that she wasn’t educated (she is, exceptionally so) or well traveled (moreso than me), or apolitical (she’s a grassroots problem solver who volunteers much of her free time); but for her —
It was organic. She understood what she was up against. She fought against it, but not for a larger cause. It was survival, and then success, then thriving. She is an iron lady. Unstoppable. Stitching up corporate meltdowns by day and Halloween costumes and prom dresses at night.
She managed all of our lives, we five kids, a horse farm, and a fortune 100 executive career. She made it look so doable, expected even. I never had any concept of the physical and emotional labor she put in because she felt like she owed it to us. To everyone. Quietly.

Why do this? Because society treats vaginas, vulvas, and the clitoris as taboo. Children are taught substitute terms, and society uses vaginal pseudonyms with a range of moral connotation. The effect is that talking about vaginas, and having one, feels embarrassing or shameful.
But it shouldn’t be. Vaginas are amazing and essential. This is a weekly opportunity for people of all genders to ask questions, share stories and express your vaginappreciation 💋

You are chosen first and punished begrudgingly. You are the default authority, actual and moral, unless proven otherwise and often even still. You are owed credit, low bars and high praise. You are entitled to the norm. Everyone else is a lesser version of you. You expect it.

Another huge Facebook story is dropping today! DC AG filing shows Facebook knew about Cambridge Analytica long before first reporting. The cover up is always worse than the crime.
DC AG wants email chain unsealed so the public can see what’s redacted in the filing. Facebook knows it’s going to make them look guilty of deception. Remember, Zuckerberg and Sandberg testified under oath that they learned about Cambridge Analytica from The Guardian story.
So either the executives did perjury or their company is catastrophically mismanaged.
