From completely ignoring Valerie Plame's antisemitism while writing about her run for Congress to continuing to play PR for Rashida Tlaib, outlets like the New York Times and Washington Post have made a decision that have a D by your name means your bigotry is acceptable.
The original WaPo article covering the Tlaib controversy was inexcusable. The alleged reporter focused the story on the reaction and covered for Tlaib’s historically ignorant comments by leaving out key facts and context while attacking her critics. patreon.com/posts/26839451
A reporter's job is to provide facts and context, then let readers decide. Instead, The WaPo and others chose a side, ignored the facts and context, and attacked the other side to make the whole thing seem like feigned partisan outrage. That's not journalism, it's propaganda.
CNN does deserve credit in these cases. The network did mention Plame's history (though insufficiently imo) and did do a segment providing proper historical context to Tlaib's remarks. It's sad that the bar is that low now, but that's the current state of the media.
