Back for day 2 of the opening of the trial of Carl Beech, the man formerly known as “Nick” whose allegations led to a £2m police investigation into a non-existent high profile paedophile ring. Trial set to continue from 1030.
Tony Badenoch QC opens day 2 of the trial of Carl Beech by returning to the pen-knife and the military epaulettes that Mr Beech says fell from an individual who sexually abused him
The judge, Justice Goss QC, is now being shown the two military epaulettes, before they are handed around the jury
The jurors are now being shown a video of Mr Beech presenting the epaulettes to the Metropolitan police. In the video he can also be seen holding three black books.
In the video Mr Beech also mentions the pen-knife he says Harvey Proctor gave him. In the video Mr Beech hands the investigator a written note in the black book that says “town house, lounge, light colours” and goes on to list the bedrooms. This is where the epaulettes came from
In the video Mr Beech says he can’t remember any other person, other than Harvey Proctor, being at that specific location. He can’t remember their names.
Mr Badenoch QC has stopped on the last frame of the video. He points out that on Mr Beech’s left leg are “three journals” with post it notes on them. He is now reminding the jury that yesterday they were looking at a sketch headed “Town House”.
Mr Badenoch QC says that specific “Town House” sketch being presented to the officer from one of the three journals. He adds, when Mr Beech was asked for those journals, he has not provided them, the journals he was using for his own purposes were not recovered at any later stage
