Neither are the teachers, nurses, custodians, university staff & other public employees who step up for election as leaders in their unions. They take pride & passion in their work & their ability to provide for their families - just like workers in O&G & other fields. #ableg
But it appears friends & allies of Premier Kenney & the UCP will try to get you to resent them, to be angry that the people who teach your children, care for your aging parents & help protect vulnerable children didn't feel enough 'pain' from the drop in the price of oil. #ableg
Because they know they have no hope of balancing AB's budget after pulling $4.5B out of it for profitable corporations w/o attacking the integrity & paycheques of Albertans who provide the public services we depend on. #ableg
This kind of misleading rhetoric does nothing to move Alberta forward. It won't improve our public services, address current & coming impacts of climate change or improve our bottom line. Let's stop trying to create anger at new enemies & face the real challenges instead. #ableg
