I will continue to argue that there is and there will be no new Cold War between US and China. The difference is not so much the integration between the two countries, that is a symptom
The difference is that US and Soviet Union existed in direct contradiction to each other. Each was the negation of the other. They existed on the same plane
The US and China exist on different planes. They are incommensurable and therefore cannot be in direct contradiction. There will be a struggle for supremacy, but why should each of them desire the final destruction of the other?
